Be Encouraged ~ You Are Loved
If there is one thing I know to be true about God … it is that He is faithful in keeping His promises. Whether a promise to protect or provide or healing or help in time of need …. God is not a man that He should lie. Even the most well-meaning, sincere and trustworthy person we know will fail to keep a promise at one time or another in our lives…intentional or not.
I am a witness that His promises, in and through Jesus Christ, are faithful – they have been in the past, they are now and they will be fulfilled in the future. And for that reason I rest in hope and assurance.
I wanted to share just a few of God’s promises found in His inspired, divine Word. I encourage you to read them, meditate on them, pray about them, believe them, hold them in your heart and be in eager anticipation of the fulfillment of them.
1 Kings 8:56-61 Praise be to the LORD, who has given rest to His people Israel just as he promised. Not one word has failed of all the good promises he gave through his servant Moses.
Psalm 85:8 I will listen to what God the LORD will say; he promises peace to his people, his saints – but let them not return to folly.
Psalm 119:140 Your promises have been thoroughly tested, and your servant loves them.
Psalm 119:147-150 I rise before dawn and cry for help; I have put my hope in your word. My eyes stay open through the watches of the night that I may meditate on your promises. Hear my voice in accordance with your love; preserve my life, O LORD, according to your laws. My comfort in suffering is this: Your promise preserves my life.
Psalm 145:13-14 Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and your dominion endures through all generations. The LORD is faithful to all his promises and loving to all he has made. The LORD upholds all those who fall and lifts up all who are bowed down.
Acts 13:34 The fact that God raised him from the dead, never to decay, is stated in these words: ‘I will give you the holy and sure blessings promised to David.’
2 Corinthians 1:20-22 For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God. Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.
2 Corinthians 7:1 Since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God.
Ephesians 1:13-14 And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession-to the praise of his glory.
Hebrews 6:11-13 We want each of you to show this same diligence to the very end, in order to make your hope sure. We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised.
Hebrews 10:22-24 Let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.
2 Peter 1:3-7 His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires. For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love.
James 1:12 Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.
1 John 2:24-25 See that what you have heard from the beginning remains in you. If it does, you also will remain in the Son and in the Father. And this is what he promised us-even eternal life.
Be Encouraged ~ You Are Loved,
Shortly before His crucifixion, Jesus told His disciples to pray in his name – to make their petitions according to His will. By praying in this manner, “The Father will give you whatever you ask in My name.” [John 15:16]. There is power attached to praying in Jesus’ Name
We are afforded a privilege to approach God through prayer because of our relationship with Jesus. At our “moment” of salvation, we went from being “being foreigners and aliens to being children of God.” [Ephesians 2:19]. Now God hears our prayers because of the redemptive work of Jesus.
Praying in Jesus’ Name give us an immediate audience in God’s presence. This was reflected in the temple, when the veil that restricted us from the Holy of Holies, was torn from top to bottom [Mark 15:38] symbolizing access to God is now available to all who believe. Now, we have the right, the privilege, the honor to talk directly to God without human intercession.
I encourage you you approach the throne of grace with BOLDNESS, to use the POWER you have in JESUS’ NAME to pray with CONFIDENCE knowing and believing that THE FATHER hears your prayers when you pray in HIS WILL and He will answer.

In the Bible and in our lives we are instructed in the importance of keeping a good name. Proverbs 22:1 states that: “A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver and gold.” Likewise, Ecclesiastes 7:1 states: “A good name is better than precious ointment; and the day of death than the day of one’s birth.”
We are urged, advised, cautioned earnestly and admonished urgently to keep a good name, a name for good things with God and with men. The Bible gives clear instruction on how we can do that. For instance …
Philippians 4:8 says:
“WHATSOEVER THINGS ARE TRUE AND HONEST” – It entreats us to regard what we say in truth and use decency in our behavior toward everyone. After all, we are the beacons that reflect the light of Jesus in a dark world. When people look at what we say or what we do, they should see an aura about us that reflects love, acceptance, compassion, help, forgiveness—all characteristics of Jesus.
”WHATSOEVER THINGS ARE JUST AND PURE” – Indicates that we are to be agreeable to the rules of justice and use [what I call] righteous fairness in all of our business or other dealings with men, and to do them without the impurity of sin.
“WHATSOEVER THINGS ARE LOVELY AND OF GOOD REPORT” – Meaning to have or show agreeable personal qualities, to be pleasant, amiable. Again this character reflects Jesus and will make us well spoken of and thought of by others. However, we should not put on a façade to gain attention to ourselves. It gives us credibility when we witness or speak of the love and forgiveness of God.
“IF THERE BE ANY VIRTUE, IF THERE BE ANY PRAISE” – We should imitate what is truly excellent among other Believers and not be ashamed to learn from them. The road to Spiritual Maturity is a growth process. Virtue has its praise because when we are virtuous, praise is exuded to the One who gives it. So we should walk in all the ways of virtue our whole life; and then, whether “…praise be of men or no, it will be of God” Rom. 2:29d.
Paul uses himself as an example in Philippians. 4:9: Those things which you have learned, and received, and heard and seen in me, do. What was seen in Paul was the same thing that they heard from him. His life and how he lived for Christ was in one accord. It says a great deal about and gives a powerful influence to what we say to others because it attracts and stimulates in others what they have seen in us. And isn’t that the way to have the God of peace with us? … by remaining steadfast in our allegiance to him?
So, my friends, whatsoever things are true, honest, just, pure, are lovely and of a good report, has virtue and praise …. think on them, live them …. then you will share the “good name” of your Heavenly Father.

Always Remember to Give Thanks
The following are just a “few” scriptures that speak of giving thanks to God the Father and Jesus the Son. There are many ways to thank God for what He has done for us by giving His only Son so that we could have Hope and Life Eternal. Now, isn’t that reason enough to give thanks every day, every hour, every minute of our lives?
Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song. For the LORD is the great God, the great King above all gods.
I always thank God for you because of his grace given you in Christ Jesus. For in him you have been enriched in every way–in all your speaking and in all your knowledge–
All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God. Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.
You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God. This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of God’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God.
For this reason, ever since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers.
Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever.
I will give thanks to the LORD because of his righteousness and will sing praise to the name of the LORD Most High.
The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to him in song.
Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.
Praise the LORD. Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever.
In that day you will say: “Give thanks to the LORD, call on his name; make known among the nations what he has done, and proclaim that his name is exalted.
The sounds of joy and gladness, the voices of bride and bridegroom, and the voices of those who bring thank offerings to the house of the LORD, saying, “Give thanks to the LORD Almighty, for the LORD is good; his love endures forever.” For I will restore the fortunes of the land as they were before,’ says the LORD.
And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.Be Encouraged ~ You Are Loved~ Laura
